ALIGHT: Moms Helping Moms

In the heart of Mugombwa Refugee Camp, the Mother 2 Mother support group is making a big difference – sometimes lifesaving – for the smallest of camp residents. Trained by Alight’s nutrition team, each of the dozen members is responsible for uplifting 15 new mothers. They help moms make the best nutritional choices for their little ones and catch any trouble early. In their khaki and pink vests, they want to be easy to find! They know their stuff: spotting malnutrition, teaching nutrient-packed cooking, and connecting with moms. “Our kids are healthy,” Solange told us, “So, we chose to help fight malnutrition.” In every section of the camp, these superheroes are making a major impact, one mother at a time.
