Global Impact Ventures (GIV) brings together driven individuals who care about serving the other and improving the world around them. Many of us at GIV are storytellers, and seek to inspire one another by connection through communication. Sometimes, the impact we can make starts with a simple message or a call to action.

Other times, that message turns into a longer story. We at Global Impact Ventures are proud to embrace each other’s creativity and encourage our team to explore the cause areas and missions they care about most. When we gather to share our stories, be it in our travels, our research, or other passions, we celebrate each’s others discoveries. We learn from one another, and sometimes find the greatest inspiration for our own work comes from within the organization itself.

That’s why we are so proud to recognize our team member Natalie Jacobsen for her latest accomplishment: she is a debut author of the novel Ghost Train, a historical fiction novel that publishes October 15, 2024 by Select Books. Natalie is a Senior Manager for Marketing Communications on the Combined Federal Campaign contract, serving the 15 zones that Global Impact Ventures oversees. She is passionate about storytelling with a purpose, in both her professional and personal life.

Before she came to Global Impact Ventures, Natalie served others by sharing stories as a journalist. She devoted her time to researching and unearthing stories that needed to be told – the kind that can help defend civil liberties, hold other accountable, and inspire others to discover the world around them. For years she told stories while residing in Japan, and found ways to support others, whether they had been devastated by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, or were part of the LGTBQ+ community fighting for their rights. Her experience left an indelible impression, and part of her journey to Global Impact Ventures included traversing other places to help not only find stories to be told, but her own voice.

We believe that in order to have a strong organization that can come together in times of need and solve the world’s most difficult problems, our staff must also have the time to fulfill their own needs and balance their professional and personal goals. Respecting that our team members live vastly different lives, and understanding each of our careers emerge from varying backgrounds, is what makes Global Impact Ventures both a desirable place to not only work, but thrive.

Global Impact Ventures is thrilled to support its team members in their pursuits of personal goals.  After all, our personal journeys are often what lead us to this line of work – I know that’s true of me. We can all learn from the journeys we each embark on to further our mission to serve others, here at GIV and beyond.

We invite you to join us in congratulating Natalie Jacobsen for her debut as a published author, and encourage others to recognize the talent on their teams and celebrate their accomplishments, too. When we uplift one another, we deepen our bond and inspire one another to achieve the dreams we set out to do. We return stronger, together, for it.

And make sure you check out Natalie’s book, Ghost Train, and let her know what you think! https://www.najacobsen.com/post/preorder-ghost-train
