Chief of Staff for Chief Information Officer/Chief Operating Officer, Guardian

Veena Jayadeva is currently the Chief of Staff for Guardian’s Chief Information Officer/Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she supports the CIO/COO’s strategic priorities and plays a key role in expanding Guardian’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts. She joined Guardian in 2015 to build the Fortune 250 company’s first CSR program, leveraging her deep experience in financial inclusion, as well as background in business development and strategy consulting.

Prior to Guardian, Veena was a Vice President at Grameen America, a NYC-based microfinance institution that has invested over $1.5B in women-led micro- and small businesses across the country. Previously, Veena was a Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she served clients in the financial services and healthcare sectors.

Veena spent the early part of her career in international development, microfinance, and corporate citizenship at organizations including the International Monetary Fund, United Nations, and World Bank.

Veena holds a Master of Business Administration from MIT Sloan, where she was a Seley Scholar, the business school’s highest merit award. She holds a Master of Arts in international economics and a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Johns Hopkins University. Veena currently serves on the Board of Directors of Global Impact and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Metropolitan New York, and is a member of the MIT Sloan Alumni Board.
