About 90% of Fortune 500 companies have at least one employee resource group (ERG) – a group uniting employees with a common background to provide support and connection in the workplace. And for good reason: 70% of 18- to 24-year-olds and 52% of 25- to 34-year-olds reported they would be more likely to apply for a role at a company that had ERGs.

Your company’s ERGs are looking for ways to meaningfully connect with each other, provide support, and make an impact. Engaging with them is a great way to foster a culture of inclusion and generosity in your workplace.

That’s where our global charity partners come in. Many international charities are working on the global causes your ERGs care about. Connecting their work with the efforts of your company’s ERGs can be a great way to form meaningful connections all while making a difference!

Partnering with Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) is a great option to engage your company’s ERGs. IRUSA provides relief and development in a dignified manner regardless of gender, race, or religion, and works to empower individuals in their communities. From responding after disasters to supplying clean water to communities in need, IRUSA works on a wide range of issues across the world and in local communities here in the US, guided by the values of the Qur’an. Whether you’d like to engage with your faith-based ERGs or any other groups within your organization, IRUSA is making a real impact for the cause areas and communities your employees are passionate about.

Employee Engagement Offering: Custom Events for Your Workplace

IRUSA is well positioned to partner with groups in the workplace for employee engagement events, both inside and outside workplace settings. They’ve partnered collaboratively with different groups at various companies to hold a wide range of volunteer engagement events, including with Google, Apple, Colgate, Workday, and more.

This past September, IRUSA held an employee engagement event with Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. 100 Ford employees from the Diversity Equity & Inclusion group, African Ancestry Network, and the Interfaith Network volunteered to pack 2,000 hygiene kit packs, which benefitted local community members in need.

The hygiene kit packing event was in celebration of Ford Caring Day, Ford’s philanthropy efforts that also gave IRUSA a $10,000 grant. This was a collaborative event organized by IRUSA and the Ford Company as part of their longstanding partnership.

The packing event gave Ford employees a meaningful way to help their local community, connect with their coworkers, and live their values at work. Packing hygiene supplies for people in need is just one of the many ways that IRUSA can connect with employees at your workplace. There are plenty of other creative ways you can work together to get your employees involved with IRUSA, including:

  • Start an IRaise campaign: Start an IRaise virtual campaign for a cause that is important to your employees and encourage them to get involved by raising awareness and donations to help those in need.
  • Plan a Meal Pack event: Work with IRUSA to coordinate a Meal Pack event exclusively for your team and contacts. Their Meal Pack program brings people together to pack nutrient-dense meals for vulnerable families around the country and around the world. In 2021 alone, IRUSA volunteers packed 1.4 million meals.

The possibilities for collaboration are endless. Whether you want to plan an event with an ERG at your organization or make it a company-wide event, IRUSA has the resources you need for a successful, meaningful engagement.

Exploring the Impact

IRUSA is pursuing a future world with zero poverty, because, ultimately, their goal is to become obsolete and live in a world where their services are no longer needed. Until then, let’s continue working together for a better world.
