At Global Impact, we’ve spent the last six and a half decades working alongside leading charities that are experts at addressing global causes. From helping refugees after World War II to providing care at the height of the AIDS epidemic, our charity partners have spent decades responding to and shaping history; honing their expertise to make the world a brighter place.

As we come into 2024, let’s take a moment to celebrate the noteworthy anniversaries of five of our incredible charity partners: FINCA International, SEE International, World Relief, MAP International, and International Medical Corps. This year, these organizations are marking meaningful anniversaries of dedicated service. They’ve all demonstrated an unwavering commitment to addressing some of the world’s most pressing and pervasive challenges with a remarkable blend of grace, knowledge, and passion.

FINCA International
Year founded: 1984
Approximately 2 billion people around the globe survive on less than $3 per day. In times of crisis, humanitarian aid serves as a crucial lifeline, aiding individuals in navigating immediate challenges. However, it is essential to recognize that aid alone is not crafted to deliver lasting change. FINCA International believes that leveraging the market to provide a hand up instead of a handout is essential to eradicate poverty. FINCA was founded on the radical idea that giving small loans and access to education and financial literacy services to people in poverty can catalyze transformative and sustainable shifts within communities. As of 2023, FINCA and its collaborative partners have directly impacted the lives of nearly 6.1 million people across more than 40 countries. Marking its 40th anniversary, FINCA celebrates four decades of listening to the voices of those in poverty, understanding their unique needs, and delivering microfinancing solutions that last.

“My parents and grandparents are farmers with no education. They have devoted their lives to making sure their children go to school. Last year we lost our entire cherry crop due to drought. A loan from FINCA made it possible to survive until next season — and make a down payment on an apple orchard. I am starting university this fall!” – Larisa Aghas

“World Relief helped us understand that we are many parts of one body, and that we must come together in unity to serve the most vulnerable and the suffering in our community. Now we share in our community’s burdens. We take care of one another. We’ve set action plans and goals, so we know we can sustain this work even when World Relief leaves.” – Rwandan Pastor

MAP International
Year founded: 1954
Illness does not recognize age, wealth, or social status — it affects us all. And yet 2 billion people, nearly 25% of the world’s population, live without access to the lifesaving medicine they desperately need.

The absence of accessible medicine has far-reaching consequences, influencing various aspects of life, including child development, life expectancy, financial well-being, education, and overall growth. MAP tirelessly addresses this challenge through their five-step model known as the “supply chain of hope.” This involves working closely with a thoughtfully chosen network of on-the-ground partners, rooted in local communities, to deliver medicine and equipment tailored to the specific needs of each area. In the year 2023 alone, MAP achieved a significant milestone by providing treatment to 63,783,000 patients. This equated to an impressive $745,372,921 worth of medicine delivered — a tangible step toward forging a healthier and more equitable world. Marking its 70th anniversary, MAP International celebrates seven decades of bringing necessary and life-changing medicine to those that need it most.
