The start of South Asia’s 2019 monsoon season has battered multiple countries over the last week. Affected areas include India’s Bihar and Assam states, Nepal’s Terai region and areas across Bangladesh. Flooding and mudslides caused by the monsoon rains have killed at least 300. An estimated 7.3 million people have been affected in India alone.

South Asia’s monsoon season run from June to September each year. While crucial for the production of crops, they leave widespread disaster in their wake. Thousands of people are in need of relief and our charity partners are responding.
