Crisis Alert: Our charities are responding to the catastrophic earthquakes that hit Turkey, Syria and surrounding areas. Provide urgent funding to support their work.

Suzan is a 43-year-old mother of six who was forced to flee her home in South Sudan when war upended their lives. In her search for safety, she brought her family to Kampala. The IRC in Uganda provides financial integration programs for refugees like Suzan who not only need employment but connections to their new community. When Suzan got involved with the IRC’s FIND Project, supported by the Open Societies Foundation, she was excited for Michael to be her mentor. Michael was not only a talented baker and entrepreneur, he was sympathetic to Suzan’s experience because his wife, Joy, was also a refugee from South Sudan. The International Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future.
