Amref Uganda began the “Africa Vaccine Access Initiative” in December 2021 with a goal of having 1,600,000 people vaccinated. The ongoing initiative is bringing awareness and fighting misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine, increasing access by hosting pop-ups in the community, and training health workers to support the new vaccination sites. Working in eight districts, Mubende, Mityana, Kiboga, Kywankwanzi, Nakaseke, Nakasongola, Luwero, and Kasandha, #TeamAmrefUganda, has so far vaccinated nearly 480,000 people, 30% of the goal!
