Expanding donor potential and providing fiscal sponsorship services so a nonprofit can focus on its mission to save lives

Opportunity

  • Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) is a registered not-for-profit organization dedicated towards saving lives and the reduction of suffering, particularly of migrants, refugees, victims of war and displaced people. Looking ahead, MOAS remains committed to initiating new humanitarian activities worldwide, addressing emerging needs and continuing its transformative impact on communities in crisis.
  • MOAS needed a partner to serve as their fiscal sponsor and strategic advisor on communication and partnership outreach.

Approach

  • Serve as MOAS’ U.S.-based fiscal sponsor to solicit and accept tax-deductible gifts from U.S. donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations. As a fiscal sponsor, we also provide fiduciary guidance, financial management and other administrative services.
  • Established an online donation platform and processed gifts from donors worldwide.
  • Expanded partnership initially to include advisory services to help MOAS develop their value proposition, create a communications strategy, and deliver foundation prospecting and outreach.

Results

  • Increased the amount and number of U.S.-based donations and contributions.
  • Raised more than $1.5 million in the first six months of our partnership through a custom donation platform and processed gifts from over 75 countries. Over the first five years of partnership, we have raised nearly $4 million.
  • Raised more than $15 million in additional funding for MOAS ’expanded mission to aid Ukraine with medical assistance.
