Building the Foundation for a Global Fundraising Engine

Opportunity

RISE is a global collaboration of workers, industry, and policy makers accelerating equality and opportunity for low-income workers in garment, footwear, and home textile supply chains, built on nearly two decades of proven experience from founding partners. As a newly established U.S.-registered organization with global operations, RISE needed a fundraising engine capable of moving beyond fragmented, short-term funding to support scale, deepen impact in priority geographies, and enable innovation. RISE partnered with Global Impact to design and implement a diversified fundraising strategy aligned with long-term growth. 

 

Approach

  • Conducted internal and external fundraising assessments to evaluate infrastructure, donor pipeline, and competitive positioning
  • Defined core fundraising strategy, including priority donor segments, revenue targets, value proposition, and engagement pathways
  • Built and operationalized a multi-year fundraising pipeline, tracking tools, and portfolio management framework aligned to revenue goals
  • Supported executive reporting, board engagement, and strategic decision-making, strengthening leadership alignment and accountability
  • Established systems for ongoing portfolio management and cultivation, transitioning ownership to RISE for sustainable in-house execution

Results

  • Aligned board, executive team, and staff around a unified fundraising strategy and positioning roadmap
  • Surpassed RISE’s 2025 grant revenue target by 140%, including multiple six-figure and multi-year commitments
  • Expanded and diversified the donor portfolio, converting long-standing relationships and securing new institutional and corporate funders
  • Established clear processes, tools, and confidence for RISE to lead fundraising independently in 2026 and beyond
