Marketing & Research Intern

As a Marketing and Research Intern, you’re a key member of the Marcomm team, with a focus on workplace donors and leaders. This role provides hands-on experience in digital research, drafting and editing content, data management, and a wider view of supporting the process of philanthropic giving.  

Responsibilities

  • Support grassroots fundraising efforts and donor engagement, conducting in-depth digital community research, supporting posting and monitoring of digital channels, and leveraging tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Reddit, and other advertising channels to reach potential donors.
  • Draft and edit external communications such as articles for the Give Global Blog, email copy, social media content, etc.
  • Edit and publish materials supporting corporate and public sector workplace giving programs on Global Impact’s Employee Giving Hub.
  • Provide design and editing support on original digital content for donors produced by Global Impact, including graphic design, website content, and more.
  • Conduct data management and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including application review, process documentation, emergency fundraising launches, and more.

Qualifications

Qualifying for this role means that you are currently a degree-seeking student pursuing a relevant degree: marketing and communications, journalism, international development, nonprofit management, etc. You’re comfortable conducting research and managing projects independently, with the ability to adapt to changing needs, and you’re an analytical thinker. You’re proficient with the full Microsoft suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and/or video editing software is a plus. Excellent creative writing and grammar skills are a plus.

Working at Global Impact

This is an 8-week (or longer) 10-15 hour/week hybrid or remote position that pays $18.40 hourly. We welcome the intern to join our local team members that gather 1-2 days per week in the Washington, D.C., office headquarters, if desired. Visa sponsorship is not available.
