On August 26, a sudden and catastrophic flash flood swept through communities along the Nepal–Tibet border, causing widespread destruction to homes, roads, bridges, infrastructure, and border-area settlements. Hundreds of people have died, and thousands more are reported missing or remain unreachable, including hundreds of tourists from the U.S., India, the U.K., and other countries. Rescue operations have been complicated by damaged access routes and the continued risk of landslides, mudslides, and flash floods.
Our Charity Alliance members are monitoring or on the ground now, preparing to mobilize emergency support for affected families and communities. Contributions to the Nepal Flash Flood Relief Fund may support emergency medical care, clean water, food, temporary shelter, hygiene supplies, child protection, and recovery assistance for communities affected by the flooding. Every contribution helps provide safety and comfort to survivors in the difficult days ahead.
