Sarah Thompson is Associate Vice President of U.S. Programs at CARE, where she leads national strategies, programs, and partnerships that help women and families overcome poverty, improve health outcomes, and strengthen resilience. By bringing together philanthropy, government agencies, and community organizations, she drives innovative solutions that create lasting change for communities across the United States.

Before joining CARE, Sarah held several leadership roles at Save the Children, including leading a $100M corporate partnerships portfolio and overseeing U.S. emergency response and community resilience programs reaching up to 1 million children and families annually. She is regarded as an industry thought leader, contributing to successful national advocacy campaigns, appearing in leading media outlets such as NPR, AP, and The Weather Channel, and designing award-winning initiatives recognized by FEMA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Sarah holds a master’s degree in health communications from Johns Hopkins University and bachelor’s degrees in psychology and kinesiology from The College of William & Mary.
