Phil Volkofsky

Phil is the Director and Founder of Brakten Consulting. With over 20 years of experience in executive roles, he has supported Chief Executives and their teams within multinational organisations such as AXA (National Mutual) and BeringerBlass Wine Estates. Phil has experience as Company Secretary and Director of Risk, Human Resources, Quality, Marketing, and Communications at Children Australia Ltd. (OzChild), which has allowed him to develop an understanding of the challenges in the for-purpose sector.

Jason Henham

Jason is the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at AFCEA International. He oversees the financial operations of AFCEA International, the AFCEA Educational Foundation, and the National Intelligence University Foundation. Prior to joining AFCEA, Mr. Henham consulted to the nonprofit sector in interim executive roles with large, international organizations and on-mission critical strategy, risk management, and corporate governance jobs.

Michael has more than 25 years’ experience in the information technology industry as part of IBM Australia where he held various leadership and management positions across the Information Technology Services, IBM Software and Hardware divisions. Today he is an advisor and board director for several startup enterprises and not-for-profits, bringing together his experiences across philanthropy, fundraising, governance, and technology.

Michael is Chair of AbilityMade, a social startup that brings 3D scanning and digital fabrication together to give children with disabilities access to the orthoses they need to live their best life.

Michael is the inaugural Chair of Together 4 Youth, a collaborative network improving the resilience, health, and life skills of Australian students.

He also sits on the board of Montefiore, a leading Sydney-based aged care provider that offers quality residential care, home care services, and independent living. He is a member of the quality & risk committee and property development committee, and brings his technology expertise which is of growing importance in the delivery of aged care services.

Previously, Michael was on the board of the JCA (NSW) for eight years, including three years as Executive Chair of Marketing and five years as Vice President and Fundraising Chair, which provided him with fundraising and event experience. Michael was the Co-Chair of Good2Give Australia (trading as Workplace Giving Australia) and ShareGift Australia until the change of the business in late 2025. Michael was a board member of Philanthropy Australia from 2022 to 2026, during which he was Chair of the Finance, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and sat on the Member Engagement Committee.

He is also Chair and co-founder of the Graf Family Foundation, a PAF that brings together the philanthropic giving of his and his sister’s families.

He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

James Kanuch

James B. Kanuch, CPA, CFE, is a Senior Director at RSM US LLP. He has over 29 years of auditing experience, of which the last 25 have been spent serving not-for-profit organizations, principally in performing audit, tax, and consulting services. Kanuch is actively involved in the not-for-profit community and has delivered presentations to several industry groups and written articles on emerging issues affecting not-for-profit organizations. He also serves as the Board Treasurer for Global Impact U.S.
