Deputy Director, Philanthropic Partnerships and Gates Philanthropy Partners, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

As part of the Gates Foundation’s Philanthropic Partnership team, Jennifer Alcorn works with philanthropists and the foundation’s program teams to facilitate partnerships that accelerate impact by scaling solutions to global health and development challenges. Alcorn leads the foundation’s Innovative Donor Model work and led the development of Gates Philanthropy Partners, a public charity that invites givers to give alongside the foundation and have a direct impact in reducing global inequities.

Since 2008, the work of Alcorn and her team led to over $1.4 billion in new resources to a broad range of issues including polio eradication, malaria elimination, and the prevention and treatment of HIV, TB and neglected tropical diseases, among other programs that improve and save lives.

Alcorn joined the Foundation in 2008. She incubated and led its work in the Middle East, while initiating its co-funding and matchmaking work with philanthropists. Prior to joining the Foundation, Alcorn served as a Director of Partnership Operations with the United Nations Foundation.

Alcorn holds a bachelor’s degree in history and historic preservation from Ursuline College. She lives in Seattle with her husband, a curator at Paul Allen’s Living Computer Museum, and her drummer/aspiring scientist son.
