Active Disaster Relief Efforts

From hurricanes Irma and Maria to the growing Rohingya refugee crisis, this is a devastating time for global disasters. Global Impact’s charity alliance includes leading disaster response organizations like Americares, International Medical Corps, and Save the Children. Our charity partners have long-standing programs in many of the locations around the world where both manmade and natural disasters occur, providing immediate and long-term relief for the world’s most vulnerable people. Domestically, our partners are vital in the response effort, protecting children, providing emergency medical supplies, and ensuring that sanitary conditions are maintained and resources are available.
Global Impact has the latest response information from on-the-ground and mobilizing responders, as well as funds available to donate to the relief and recovery efforts for the following active disasters:

Ebola in the DRC

Just two years after the Ebola Crisis in West Africa officially ended, the disease has emerged again in the Democratic Republic of Congo, killing 25 people and infecting more than 30 others. As it spreads into more populous cities, the risk of it evolving into a massive outbreak increases. Our charity partners are working to provide relief to the infected and survivors, and to halt the spread of the disease. Learn more.

Guatemala Volcano Eruption

On June 3, the Fuego volcano in Guatemala violently erupted without warning, covering nearby communities with a dangerous mix of hot ash, rock and gases. A second eruption occurred the following Tuesday, pushing the death toll to more than 100 with hundreds of people still missing. Learn more.

Rohingya Refugee Crisis

Since August 2017, it’s estimated that more than half a million Rohingyas have fled Myanmar to escape escalating violence and persecution in what the U.N. is calling “the world’s fastest growing refugee crisis.” At least 6,700 Rohingya were killed in just one month and thousands have flooded refugee camps in Bangladesh. Many remain trapped in Myanmar and in need of aid. Our charity partners are working to provide clean water, food, shelter, medical services, psychosocial support and more to survivors. Learn more.

Syrian Refugee Crisis

In March of 2011, civil war broke out in Syria. Since then, an estimated 11 million Syrians have fled their homes, seeking refuge in neighboring countries or within Syria’s borders. More than 500,000 have died since the war began, and an estimated 13.5 million are in need of humanitarian assistance. Our charity partners are working to help provide relief to refugees and their families. Learn more.
