International Medical Corps Responds to Earthquake in Turkey

Alexandria, VA (October 24, 2011) - Rescue workers and residents in eastern Turkey battled near-freezing temperatures and darkness searching for survivors after Sunday's earthquake - the country's most powerful in more than a decade. Using flashlights, shovels, heavy machinery and even their hands to lift debris, rescuers climbed over collapsed buildings in search of victims.
