After the conflict in Syria forced Abu Goubran to flee his home, he settled in a rural area away from active fighting. That's where Mercy Corps helped connect him with a local landowner who gives him space and resources to do what he does best: grow beautiful, nutritious produce, like the harvest he shares with his granddaughter, Wia. With support from Mercy Corps, he helped establish the area's first greenhouse, generating 10 times more food for local families and sharing his expertise with area farmers.
