Senior Accountant - International and Grant Management

As a Senior Accountant, you are primarily responsible for collecting, reconciling and summarizing accounting information, entering data into different accounting software, and generating financial reports for international and grant-recipient clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in international nonprofits and/or grants management and is ready to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilites

  • Month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Creating and monitoring annual budgets
  • Reviewing, approving and monitoring accounts payable and receivables
  • Serving as the main point of contact for client financial needs: project management support, vendor and sub-grantee contracts, reporting, auditing, preparing 990 and related tax forms
  • Strong time-management skills and an ability to respond to inquiries and issues as they arise
  • Ability to work with international nonprofits

Qualifications

Qualifying for this role means you have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree and have 4+ years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or nonprofit accounting. Proficient in the use of Excel, Office 365, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com and banking platforms. Hands-on experience with grant management and tracking, as well as international nonprofit organizations, is preferred.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for more than one year. Visa sponsorship is not available. This is a full-time position with the potential to be fully remote – you must be able to work the majority of hours in the eastern time zone.  

The salary range is $80,000 – $85,000 depending on the experience you have.
