IT Summer Intern

You’ll assist in supporting Global Impact’s IT systems to increase efficiency and improve reliability. This may include, but not be limited to upgrading software, configuring hardware, troubleshooting network, server, and desktop issues, and working with end users on various technology issues, as well as creating/updating documentation and training materials. This role requires 25 hours per week with 2 days per week in the Alexandria, VA, office and 1 day working from home.

Responsibilites

  • Work with off-site helpdesk team to facilitate end user issue resolution.
  • Assist in staff onboarding/offboarding process.
  • Assist with Office365 email account cleanup (archiving mailboxes, archiving OneDrive, deleting accounts).
  • Assist in wiping and disposing depreciated IT equipment (laptops, hard drives, monitors, etc.)
  • Help to monitor and manage distributed server environment (Windows 2016 and 2019).
  • Provide day-to-day support for various technologies (Windows 10, Microsoft Office, share drives, printers, network, phones, wireless, etc.)
  • Create and update different system and network documentation.

Qualifications

  • Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree (in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field) and is currently in their junior or senior year.
  • Desire to learn about various business/enterprise applications and tools.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to comfortably work within a Windows 10 operating system environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, manage strict timelines and adhere to deadlines. Has strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and in a team environment with little supervision.
  • Prior internship or professional experience preferred.
