Steve is the Managing Partner at OPX, a design consultancy in Washington, DC, that creates integrated operation environments for improved business results. 
A recognized entrepreneur, thought-leader, facilitator, speaker and educator, he has pioneered a new way of looking at organizations, productivity and operations. Polo has infused the practice of design with his visionary thinking on improving business performance through the integration of people, tools and place with business operations and strategy. 
Clients who have benefited from Polo’s expertise and guidance include Hogan Lovells, Hilton Worldwide, BAE Systems, ABC News, International Food Policy Research Institute, AARP, the City of Turku (Finland) and the National Science Foundation, among others.
Polo also launched OPX’s global practice. Projects include engagements in Toulouse, France; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; Turku, Finland; Melbourne, Australia; London, England; Glasgow, Scotland; Bejing, China; New Dehli, India; Mexico City, Mexico; Toronto, Canada; Johannesburg, South America; and Monrovia, Liberia.
As a frequent lecturer, Polo has spoken at a number of colleges and universities including Georgetown University, George Washington University and Babson College. He is also a former speaker for Vistage, an international CEO organization, where he lectured on Design Thinking as a Competitive Advantage. Most recently, Polo conducted a webinar for Michael Porter’s Initiative for a Competitive InnerCity on Demand Creation. 
Polo is active in a variety of community and professional groups, including the Economic Club of Washington, Vistage, Association for Corporate Growth and World Futures Society. He also sits on the corporate and advisory boards of the Conscious Venture Lab, Global Impact, Daedalus Systems, Inc., Smarter DC Challenge and Jam Longboards, Inc.
