Mauricio Vivero is the founding Executive Director of the Seattle International Foundation, a private institution working to alleviate global poverty through grant making and special initiatives. Under his leadership, the foundation has awarded more than $10 million in grants to 110 organizations working in 38 countries, with a strategic focus on Latin America.
He has more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, grant making, policy advocacy and project management. His professional experience includes serving as Executive Director of Ayuda, Director of Government Relations for Independent Sector, Vice President of the Legal Services Corporation and Director of Grassroots Lobbying for the American Bar Association.
Vivero was born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated with his family to the U.S. in 1970. Vivero holds a law degree from Creighton University and a bachelor's degree in international relations from Florida International University.
Vivero is not only a Board member of Global Impact but he also serves on the Board for the Central America Leadership Initiative.
